Montgomery College (MC) students interested in writing and poetry are invited to submit up to 2 poems to The Excalibur’s poetry contest!  

This year’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be published on the Excalibur news site!

The 1st place winner will also receive a prize.  

The judges for the competition will be published MC student poet Liat Suvorov; Renaissance scholar Sephira Amen; and Sligo Journal contributing editor Gregory Wahl.  

Poetry Criteria   

• Submit original work only.  
• Each student can submit up to 2 poems.  
• All poetry must be in English.  
• Poetry must be no more than 50 lines.  
• Poems containing hate speech or false information will not be accepted.  

Eligibility 

• Must be a current MC student.  

The deadline to submit the poetry is Friday, April 14. 

Submit poetry entries to [email protected]. Include “2023 MC Excalibur Poetry Contest” in the subject line and attach submissions as .pdf or .docx files.
