Montgomery College held a Grief Week guest speaker event across all three campuses from Oct. 28 to 30.
On the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus, students learned more about grief on Oct. 30 from Jessie Nolasco-Sandino, licenced certified social worker (LCSWC), who emphasized the universal nature of grief. “Everyone goes through some type of loss or grief,” she said, adding that understanding the grief process can help individuals support themselves and others through difficult times.
Nolasco-Sandino’s talk was part of a collegewide initiative to foster awareness and resilience, providing students with insights on navigating loss and building compassion within the MC community.
