The Takoma Park/ Silver Spring (TP/SS) campus DLC is located on the 3rd floor of the Student Services (ST) building, room 304.

The Digital Learning Centers (DLC) are holding their final Microsoft Office workshops and Open Labs on April 20 and 21. These sessions have been available throughout the year in morning and noon slots and are conducted through Zoom.

The DLC provides Macbook and Windows workstations which are available on the Rockville (RT) and Takoma Park/Silver Spring (TP/SS) campuses.

According to Robel Belay, a DLC specialist, the centers held sessions on Microsoft Office essentials with comprehensive training during the spring semester.

The workshops and open labs focused on learning the basics of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

During the workshops DLC staff teach students the fundamentals of Microsoft Office applications. The next workshop will be held Apr. 20 at 2:30 p.m. It will cover Microsoft Word fundamental actions such as document formatting and inserting tables and pictures.

Open Labs are one-hour virtual zoom sessions during which DLC staff are available to answer questions students have on Microsoft Office applications. The next open lab is on Apr. 20 at 11:30 a.m. and will review Microsoft Excel topics.

The DLC advises students to register 30 minutes before the start of each session.

In addition to Microsoft Office application workshops, the DLC offers workshops and resources on LinkedIn profiles, ePortfolio basics, Windows 10 navigation, and other digital literacy skills.

Students will need to present their college ID to use DLC resources. For more information, students may visit the DLC page.
