Not Wasting is Caring: Capital Area Food Bank @ MC
The Capital Area Food Bank is dedicated to diminishing food waste. According to them, an estimated 40% of food in the United States is uneaten. Montgomery College receives monthly produce from the Food Bank in order to help students and the community save food from waste. The college receives random produce every month. Last week, produce and products like carrots, potatoes, onions, rice, and water were given to students, faculty, and community members. The college, before giving produce, performs a small survey to help gain information about the community and better know them as a whole.
