Professor Vincent Intondi’s academic work spotlighted at Excalibur event
On Apr. 20, The Excalibur hosted a speaker event titled, “Saving the World from Nuclear War,” at the Institute of Race, Justice, and Civic Engagement. The student newspaper invited Professor of History, Vincent Intondi to speak about his most recently published book Saving the World from Nuclear War: The June 12, 1982 Disarmament Rally and Beyond. During the event, Intondi spoke about the obstacles of nuclear disarmament activists, American cultural perspective toward nuclear weapons, interviews with activists for the book, and more. The Excalibur was able to give 20 free copies of the book to attendees, courtesy of the Office of the Vice President and Provost at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus.
Nafisatu Kabia joined The Excalibur as a staff writer in the spring of 2023. She is the Assistant Editor for the Excalibur in the fall of 2023.
